75.5kg - And I Feel It

March 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Today’s Weight: 75.5kg

My body is strange. When the trend of my weight is in the 74-75.5kg range, I’m slim. Put on just 2-3kg to be over 77.5kg, and I immediately form man boobs and love handles. The 2-3kg gap makes a huge difference.

I’m starting to feel the difference in my weight in my body now, and it feels fantastic. My clothes are looser, I’m lighter, and not wobbling when walking. It’s amazing.

This leads me to believe that I’ve actually reached a trend weight if 75-76kg - a weight which is being reflected in my overall body shape, rather than just being a transient dip caused by loss of water or daily variance.

I’m still not at my goal weight of 74kg, but even now I’m thinking “My god, why did I let myself get above this weight? It feels great!”

It’s a lesson to me that I need to have my “emergency action” line lower. I should be taking action in future when I go over 76kg, not 78kg as it was before.

I’m not expecting the last ~1.5kg to be quite. As I get closer to my goal weight, the rate of decrease slows down: there’s less fat to disappear; muscle is forming from exercise (though my exercise has been limited, so that’s probably not a huge issue); the body is more sensitive to fat intake.

Of course it’s probably tempting fate to write this now, feeling that I’m so close to my goal. Tomorrow’s Weight: 76.9kg?
